Alternate FRONT lights

After GVs wonderful thread and pics of the alternate wedge rear lights, I was wondering if anyone has done/thought of alternate FRONT side lights, and even whether the pods could be replaced with some kind of fixed headlamp.

Yes, I know some may regard this as heresy and a hanging offence, I'm not really all that serious about the headlights, but I do wonder about those sides, mine are in one piece but have several holes rusted right through the back, and can't have that much life left ....

Anyone got suggestions for replacements that may need a little GRP work ?

Ive often wondered about a replacement a bit like the LM F40



behind perspex/ polycarb

or use the same headlight as the F40 in its pods (but at £450 its a bit steep)

Ahh Rik you must of been at the BNG..We shot the BNG Calendar round the back of the hangar...I must say that i like the look of them from the front but from the side it spoils the lines of the wedge..I prefer the look of the white elephant...

Indicators and sidelights from a Lotus Elan


Indicators from a Porsche 944, no sidelights though.


Honda NSX indicators and sidelights, might be a bit rare or hard to get, and they do go round the corner of the bumper


The others I could think of like Mk2 MR2 and Mk1 MX5 would be too curved to fit.

Or some small round separate lights from a kit car supplier, it would fit in with the rear round lights.

Hey Ziga... I just took that from the net I wasn't there, yeah the white elephant is more traditional to the original design isn't it.
Gonna be interesting to see that when its complete.

Happened to be out shopping today, and I spotted that an old Mitsi (Magna?) had front cluster which look very like the wedge's, from a distance at least. I'll have to have a closer look some time, but they might be a possible replacement.
