Hi all,

Every time I take the sx for a spin I always wipe the garage floor so it's free of the various fluid drips/puddlesfrown now I know it's an RV8 and this feature comes as standard....... My last wedge was no different.
However the sx did tend to make quite a messmad, so I have been gradually trying to eliminate each leak, only to then find the rad had sprung a leakfurious. Well with all that fixed I went for a fang last weekend drivingand the car has been in the garage ever since and NO DRIPS!!!!!!!woohoo
Fig jam!
Cheers
Adam

Used to be a joke about OLD Jags, if they stop dripping oil it probably means its all gone!!

Glad you have got it sorted, I'm sure there are a couple of minor ones I should try and address on my 280.

Mmmm....It does sound strange Adam that you have nothing dripping..perhaps its as wedgeinald say's..

Norman if you have an oil stain on the bell housing its fairly common although it could be coming from the inlet manifold gasket..They are a beach sometimes and only a good quality one..(Payen) will suffice..If its from the rocker covers then they all do that although having the correct load bearing washers on helps..The wing shaped ones..Also some people change the rocker covers for the alloy type as the pressed steel one are not always entirely flat surfaced and will always leak...Its a shame there is only a cork gasket available for the cologne..Although there might be some different ones up for grabs soon..I will look into it..Cheers...Ziga

I put my 400SE up on the ramps for an oil leak check about a week ago. All the sump bolts were loose, so I tightened them up, and all the rocker cover bolts were loose and I tightened them up too. However the worst leak was from the back of the power steering pump. The lower pipe had corroded and was leaking. From my local parts shop, I managed to buy the correct size power steering pipe but had to do a join in the middle with the old one. Now, no leaks what so ever. The RV8 engine needs the occasional oil leak check up to keep things under control.

You're wasting your time, you need that "black love juice " dripping to keep the chassis from rusting!!!

Yes checked mine before the holiday and like Tony, sump bolts, rocker cover bolts all loosened off, appeared to have an oil leak from the oil pump housing somehow too so I bribed my lad to do that one for me, just power steering pump to change when I get back and then another look underneath, is good anti rust option though.
