The original ones for your age of beast, were 205/60/15, and TVR quoted 22 front and 20 rear (owners handbook). Which seems a little low, and I believe the higher pressure should be on the front due to the engine weight. Not sure why others are saying higher pressure to the rear?
Cheers

For a 1985 350i with 205/60 VR15 Goodyear NCT, page 12 of the TVR handbook states 22psi front and 20 psi back. In the same handbook on page 59 it states 22 front and 24 back for the same tyres on the same car, plus 2 - 4psi in each tyre for high speed running.

I run 18 at the back for very good reasons (but I can't quite remember what they were), and about 23/24 at the front.

I always ran 20/22 on the 350i. I think if you are on the low side you get better grip at the expense of more rolling resistance - so lower top speed.

Its a matter of personal choice and I dare say how the suspension is set up, the tyre choice etc. However I did run briefly with 30psi after a tyre change (why do they put so much in???) and it was a bit scary!

Adam,

If you remember, i rolled up at the fest with brand new refurbed wheels (refitted them day before the fest).
Since then, i have been to another show also.

Went to Duxford this Sunday and filled up with juice and checked the pressure..................

40 psi all round !!!

Idiots inflated to fit onto rims......and never reset after.

Done around 300 miles on them at 40.

Very jittery at the back and i thought she felt funny on the bends......figured bushes needed a look at.

Dambuster !!
