Rear seat belts in a +2?
Discussion
Hi,
I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a +2 wedge to use as a 3 seater (I realise the seat behind the driver is next to useless). The one thing stopping me is the lack of belts in the back...need to keep the kids safe. Is it possible to retro fit belts or would the fuel tank get in the way of securing them to the chassis? Presumably I'd need to put a roll cage in the back so that there is a secure point at shoulder height. Has anyone done this before, is it possible or not?
Thanks,
Ralph

HI Ralph
Its easily done, you use a 4 point harness and run the straps over the fuel tank and through the floor to attach to the chassis underneath.
the same for the front as the seats are easy to remove and the securing points on the chassis are directly underneath.
No need for a roll bar, and there are 2 350i FHC 2+2s with this arrangement already done, and Ill be doing my 350i 2+2 when I change the chassis over (when Ive finished the Taimar!!)
