Hi Peeps..Well as its been nice weather i thought it might be a good time to have you out there taking pics for next years calendar..preferably those who havent featured in one yet..I would really like to set the theme of a wedge in front of some really cool graffiti if possible..Or any type of good street art..A banksy would be awesome but thats pushing it..if the majority of you cant find any then old clock towers would suffice..Preferably ornate working ones...But essentially i would love at least one year with some street art and wedges featured..They go so well together..So lets see what you can come up with...Oh and the golden rules..No people..Or other cars..High def or as good as you can get for printing quality also please...Cheers...Ziga

PS: I would also like one year to have an A4 wall calendar made up of racing wedges..Individual action shots for each month and a line up or off the grid shots for front cover...What do you think...Thanks

That goes without saying..smile..I would like to ideally keep it to single cars for each month as its been the format for the wedge calendar since its creation but the racing calendar will happily sport other cars..Preferably out of focus in the background as the wedge takes the lead..Unless they are all wedges of course..Happy days...Ziga

Zig. I think the idea is good but would be quite difficult to put into practice. I remember from last year there was a mention of street art and Wedge photos, and I started looking around my area with enthusiasm. I soon realised there wasn't that many. There are a few ancient clocks and things, but they are in town being closely watched by the council's so called 'safety cameras'. We are not even allowed to stop next to them, let alone take a high resolution photo. However, as with anything else, I can appreciate that organising this is a difficult task, and if that is what the majority want then I personally will do my part to support you. I know I've been in your calendar shots before, but not with my new 'Moonraker Black Wedge'.

Can I also suggest that Wedge owners could be asked what theme they would like for the calendar this year, and then have a vote on a few of the ideas put forward. Just a suggestion. What do you think?

Hi Mark,
not sure that"street art" stretches north of newcastle. The only graffitti i have seen north of the border is just that, graffitti, no art whatsoever.
loads of clock towers, castles, though, could try for concorde, thats fairly nearby.

Hi Tony..The theme of graffiti is a difficult one as most of the good stuff is in london and bristol, I can post up locations if needed...Some parts of britain wont tolerate it at all and would even paint over a bansky!..This is a challenge and one that i would like to see done..One year at least..Of course this is about you guys and not me so suggestions are more than welcome..Voting is cool also..One thing though..For prosperity the titles of the yearly calendars ..(If anyone has ever noticed)..Always say "A wedge of...." so if that can be beared in mind then the suggestion box is wide open...Cheers...Ziga

If there are enough of us interested we might be able to do something like ....

With JUST wedges....even if it only forms the front cover....

Would mean a trip to Robinhood Airport one Sunday...

I have the contacts to arrange if we're up for it.

Obviously the vulcan is an aviation orgasm..One of my favourites at local airshows when i was a nipper..Sheffield is a bit of a trek for me though but if a few of you can get there to get some nice front cover pics that would be awesome..Check this out for brown trousers...

Duxford sounds a great oppourtunity for some super pics..I can travel there with me camera and tripod if we can arrange a photo session with them..I could always contact them to see what they say..Here is a list of their collection...

I am sure we could get Wayne MrWST, Colin Taffo, Simon B@tman and myself
to Donny for a Vulcan shoot as well as Steve and Tim Act Daft from SY?

Love the Vulcan

We do loads with aircraft and I vote for a Wings and Wheels Calendar
that is easy enough for everyone around the country to do?

Cheers

If people don't want to trek as far as Doncaster there are some other possibilities...

Wellesbourne (Further south than Doncaster - and they have one of the Vulcans that can still fast taxi but doesn't fly) I know a man who can arrange it there also...

Or maybe Bruntingthorpe, NO Vulcan (but it did live there at one point) but plenty of other aircraft to choose from, Canberra, Lightning, Jet Provost, Comet, Buccaneer, even a "super guppy" and more that I can't remember off the top of my head, I know a man who helps out there also but he is "just" on the Buccaneer so might have to do some more research before we try there?

As a "last resort" I do know someone involved in the VGS (Voulenter Glider Squadron) at Abingdon (also used for "car testing"....whistle) but I'm sure a row of TVRs in front of a row of Vigilant (powered) Gliders wouldn't quite be the same? Also he's "only" a trainee instructor so he may have to ask further up the chain of command etc.

Can you tell I'm a Plane Nut as well as a Car Nut?

Always here to help you Big Boy - especially if we can make some money for the CHARYTEE at the same time!!!!

I also have some very good contacts at the Real Aeroplane Company [url] www.realaero.com [url]
which is only 30 miles further North and has some fantastic photogenic aircraft!!!!
That's where I sneaked off to on the Sunday after the Wedge Fest

I want my Wedge pictured with the Fokker in his Messerschmitt!!!!

Cheers
