Can any one advise.

While I have the stereo out playing, I have two wires not in use.

One Blue and one Red and Blue.

Can any one say what they are for?

I think They may be to do with the electric areal.

Also. I have 4 feeds from the fibre optic light all are crap, Is this common. The light is coming out of the fibre but not doing anything in the way of ilumination.

Thanks

Depends on what radio you have, but one wire is probably as you say for the electric aerial, blue on my Kenwood and the other may well be for the mute facility ie if you had a car kit, it could either mute the radio if the phone rings, or put the sound through the stereo

I agree with the blue being areal supplie, However the blue/red is from the car side.

Red/Blue MIGHT be either permanent 12v for the memory, or '12v sidelights on' for backlighting...

Don't know if it helps, but you might look at a thread I started/finished on converting my SII's switched-from-the-dash to a 1) switched from the radio (power on-off) and 2) rewiring for a "modern" replacement aerial which required a different wiring configuration from the original in my '86.
