Anyone got an Oil Guage?

Hi folks,
Seems the oil guage on my 280i is up the spout.
The dials on mine are the "VDO" ones.
Apparently the factory say they still have some, however as you're no doubt aware, all the old stock has been locked up in containers. They say it may be three weeks before they can get to them - I reckon three months would be more like it.
My other alternative is getting it repaired, but I think the easier route
would be to just pop a second hand one in (if I can find one).
All help appreciated.

You wont see a guage from the factory as they do not plan to sell Taz or S stuff again and the container stuff is sold.
I may have a guage but need to hunt through the piles of stuff. I know I've got TVR and a Smiths badged ones but VDO - not sure.
I'll look at the weekend if I get 5 mins.

I know you said you're not keen on getting it repaired. But I would recommend this bloke for it, www.jdo1.worldonline.co.uk No connection with him, I had my speedo repaired+recalibrated by him and was happy with it.

Cheers for the link Dave, I'll certainly check it out. I'm not against having it repaired, I just worry that I might be guageless for ages whilst it's being away being fixed.
Edited to say: Just noticed they're in Keighley which is fairly close to me.

Oil guage update...
Well after failing to find a proper TVR VDO oil guage I decided to take York33's advice and send it off to JDO in Keighley.
Unfortunately the guage turned out to be unrepairable, so I'm back to hunting for a replacement guage.
I've found this one on ebay. Do you guys think it will work?

Sorry about that guv, worth a go though. Really wouldn't like to guess about the Volvo one, who's to know if your sender will match the gauge?
You could get a nice new one, £24+drat, though the sender is another £20.

Well the Volvo one didn't work.
So back to the drawing board...
I've had a look on the Greengauges site and whilst it all looks pretty straightforward, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to specify what engine the sender unit is connecting to. Surely they're not all the same.
Since you've used them before Dave, can you shed any light on the matter?
I'd hate to go down this route only to find the new sender didn't fit.
So back to the drawing board...

This one's posted for posterity. Should anyone be having similar problems in the future and searching the old threads.

At the suggestion of my Mechanic I took a trip down to Carcraft (like Halfrauds) and took a look in the max power & bling section.
Sure enough there was a large array of boost gauges and the likes. But within all this chaff was an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
What's more it was a mechanical gauge as opposed to an electrical one.
It cost only £14.99 complete! The Greenguage dial with sender I'd just priced up was coming in at £64.00(inc. postage).
So I did the sums and rang my mechanic, he said "one's just as good as the other and we always used mechanical oil gauges on our rally cars without any problems".
So no contest. It was fitted today and works a treat.
I still have my VDO sender unit in case I ever come across an original TVR VDO dial. But until I can get the real thing I'd rather stick with my bargain gauge and put the money I've saved towards my new hood.

Came with a T piece as weel so have the origianl and mechanicla plumeb in, with the mech in the engine bay so as not too mess up the dash.
Electric one reads about 10 psi down on the mechanical one, so always good to have a more reliable one around for any confirmation. Now need to do the same for my petrol guage as this is about reliable as a chocolate teapot !
