Has anyone got pics they would like to share of their front lower arms/wishbones?
Mine have started to crack along the sides by the ball joints, and I'd like to see if any one has pics of some they have had made up? spin

Hi Mate..There was a post about them a while back..I believe they are cortina mk4/5...The lower suspension cusion is like rocking horse poo, Apparently they were to stop rattling..(According to a ford specialist)..Do you have any pics of the cracking?...Cheers..Ziga

Maybe this as well? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=124...
Not many have modified the lower wishbones and there has been mixed feelings/reviews about going the coilover route. If you do go this way then it's not going to be just a bolt on job.
The wishbones are just standard MK5 Cortina if you just want to replace them.
Cheers Steve.

I'm sure I found some pictures of a TvR coil over conversion on Facebook but I can't seem to find it now as the TvR page seems to have ceased to be...

Must admit I'm looking at this myself, I suspect you could make a new bottom arm using some CDS tube bent into a V shape, reinforced to take the bottom coil over mount and then replace the ford ball joint with a threaded one like a sherpa. Inner end could have another tube welded on to take a standard cotton reel bush as you have adjustment on the outer balljoint.

Anyone know if the ford lower arms are handed ??

Thank you gents biggrin

Some good links there, especially the American site with the cortina lower arms with a turn buckle (shame they dont have any bigger pics laugh )

It's basically me being cheeky mr Zig, as its not on a wedge, but my ole Granada boxedin
Shall try and get some pics tonight, as I'm getting them welded back up for the mo as it's my only mode of transport.
They have started splitting either side of the lower arm were the balljoint is bolted to, on the angled upright section. I do plan to get some tubular ones made up to handle the coilovers a bit neater though, instead of hanging on via the damper mounts shoot
