Don't know anything about the car, but IMHO the seller is not trying too hard to sell - poor pictures and very little description - at least it's got a sunroof though wink And without tax - no test drives.
If I were looking, I'd start with cars advertised on PH or maybe at a push the TVRCC. I personally wouldn't bother with this, especially if its going to be your first.

When you get your wedge please come along to one of the saturday morning meets at either Greenwich park or the Hot rod diner in northfleet, Even if its only once a month, A few of us meet up every saturday for a bacon sarnie and a cuppa weather permitting and sometimes venture up to rochester, If you have some time that is...Cheers...Ziga

Thanks for the invite, Greenwich is not a problem, I was going to wait till the winter / prices to deflate, but seem to have an empty garage so my search will continue wink

Cool..That wedge does have some nice interior and the leather looks pretty new..Perhaps email them to ask for a couple of pics of the chassis although its not a 100% that everything is ok but it gives a better picture..I do remember this car from earlier on in the year and i did like it although there were a couple of bits that put me off..Saying that it might be worth a look..Your budget is about right for a wedge of that standard...Always remember that you will end up spending what you pay for a wedge and possible more on it during the time you own it..But its money well spent... biggrin

Zig's advice is solid.
Most wedges look cosmetically good, as they're fibreglass. Be aware that they can (and often do) hide a multitude of horrors though!
Check the chassis thoroughly - and I mean thoroughly!

A fresh MOT bodes well. If you can, get a look at the MOT sheet and see if it tells you how well the rear brakes were working.
If they're marginal, plan for a rear end rebuild.

I bought a 350i two years ago, which superficially 'only needed brakes sorting'.
Just got it on the road a few weeks ago biggrin

Good luck though - red with a cream interior is a nice combo smile

Just chasing more pics and info at the moment, he says requires a relay for the fan as its running from a perm switch at the moment, but there is no overheating at all, quote expect to fork out a few quid on getting a car sorted over time, located in Dorset and a test drive is no prob, so looks like I will be heading down for a once over wink

More likely that the temperature switch in the radiator has failed so the fan was either never coming on, or staying on all the time... that said, the fan does draw a lot of current so it's not impossible that the relay has fried - bit of a cheapskate to not replace a £4 relay, the amount of time you'd spend bu99ering about running wires and fitting switches you may as well repair the thing properly rolleyes
Later V8s had two fan relays in parallel to share the current drain.
