Hi, just got in touch with the current owner of my old 81 Tasmin. Anybody know a source for the speedometer drive gear and it's retainer?

Seems they are not available in Canada.

Cheers.

You might try Norm at Team Blitz. He's a Capri specialist but since they used the same engine I'm sure they used the same gear box. http://www.teamblitz.com/ Grady

Rob, assuming you mean the plastic drive gear in the tranny right? I have one I can part with. Hayden found someone in Germany who had some 2 years ago. Shipping was outrageous for 1 so we bought a bunch. I didn't need mine as my issue was elsewhere. Can send it or bring it in a few weeks.

Sorry Ben - wasn't following my own post.

This is indeed that little plastic gear. I was asking on behalf of a club member on the west coast who has my old Silver Tasmin.

If you do have one decide how much you want, and let me know. I will get the word to Raymond.

For your info - there is a range of 'sizes' (i.e. number of teeth), which allows for different diff ratios. Ford speedos are all calibrated the same, as far as I know, at 1000 revs per mile.

For the 4 speed box, you want the 3 litre Capri, or early 2.8i drive wheel.
