350SE on TVRCC site
Discussion
As mentioned both the 350 and 390 SE's had the same 3.9 RV8 in. There were differences in body shape and styles between the two though depending on what the factory had on the shelf and what the customer asked for. Look for the NCK engine number as this was the higher spec engines usually put into the SE cars.

Without wishing to be disrespectful to the owners of a 350se, they are something of a half-way house IMHO. Yes, you do get a 3.9 (rated at 240 bhp IIRC) but you don't get the OZ splits, vented bonnet or the big-arch body. And the standard wheels on this model are not my taste. Still, they are rare, and wheels / bonnet could be changed far more easily than the engine in a 350i to a bigger one.

Number 7 I fully agree, I prefer the chunkier appearance of the 390/400s, but alas beggars can't be choosers, this is all I can afford at the moment, and I don't want another 350i, so this "half way house" is my only option at the mo, I'm sure I'll still enjoy it as much as I did my old 350i
PS - I'll probably store the original wheels and put aftermarkets on.... partly to keep them in good nick, and partly I'm not keen on them either.... Revolution RFX I think, like the black 350i

There is still the white ex-TVR 350/390/400* in Liverpool which has now dropped to £3,500 - that's below 350i money!! - and looks very clean and a lot of stuff done.
Plenty of room left cash wise for any body mods or even repaint it plus an interesting history with TVR. (and it's got better wheels!

EDIT Hmmm, having looked at that 390SE again I gotta admit it's worth the money

Hi, yes I've considered that one, and it's been widely discussed on here, but something doesn't quite sit right with that car with me for some reason, unsure about chassis condition too, but difficult to say for sure without viewing it Plenty of room left cash wise for any body mods or even repaint it plus an interesting history with TVR.
