Marshall's 450 test drive

Just read the article on Mikes web page..excellent
Question: Is that an extra silencer fitted under the rear wing? Also the reflectors either side of the cool 'TTFN' plate, and on the rear wings, are these all US legal requirements?
What a shame, the extra box must rob the car of some noise!!
Damn this weather, i need a fix

Have a ride down to Virginia Waters tomorrow then with me, weather forecast for the morning is OK. Another Wedge is coming too I think.

I can't answer about the silencer under the rear bumper, however, the reflectors, etc were added by the owner, not based on any legal requirements to my knowledge. And, I don't believe the sound of the 450 has been significantly diminished by the silencer. It still has a wonderful lope to the idle and a delicious sound under power. Not quite as loud as my raucous V8 Taimar, but it's a little louder than I like it anyway and I plan to tame it down just a little bit.
I don't know about robbing the car of some sound, but my 450 (according to my missus) on tickover rattles the front gates when I am parked around the back of the house!!!
The car sounds completely different to the 350i, I don't know if it is the stainless system or the bigger engine but the 450 literally barks at you. In my opinion a much nastier, sharper more abrupt noise.

Nice to hear about thing accross the pond. I do look into the US site now and then. I have seen pics of that wedge before and it does look good. Out of the wood work usually has me drooling.
This one caught my attention the other day

Working..unfortunately

jmorgan, if Woodwork usually has you drooling, why not start making plans to attend in October 2005 when we celebrate our 25th anniversary of Woodwork. My goal is to equal or better attendance at Woodwork 10 when we had 130 TVRs on the showfield. And if you're a fan of the older TVRs, then you'll need a bib because that's primarily what's there every year.
The 'M' series cars account for the largest number among our membership, followed by the wedges.
If you haven't been before, you ought to give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it.
