ive got the after market tie bars but wanted to sort some out how i wanted them so into the workshop and cut and weld up a modified set i wanted to keep a rubber bush one end and rose joint the other this way you dont have to remove the bolt at one end when adjusting the rear suspention standard tie bars

ye they are left hand thread chromoly/kevlar lined rose joints with seamless tube

got the tie bars back from the powder coaters all shiny just got to take of the old (new) adjustable tie bars and replace with the new modified tie bars just got to find time

first chance due to work i managed to get in the garage and fit the new modded tie bars today the new sh ones go back in the spares bin

Oh the big end is still rubber - was rose jointing at both ends going to be too stiff?

Ye I wanted a bit of give so I moded the the original ones with a good quality rose joint from a Motorsport supplier and poly bush on the original end

I think that it's essential if you want your suspension to work half reasonably.

I had a talk with the hatter ( Martin )about a year ago that's when I decided to change them .cheers martin

Cheers it's taken about 5 years to get to this point on the restoration just got paint then a finish carpets and then drive it like I stole it

Dave with your tie rod mod I would keep enough tie wraps in the car in case one of the rose joints lets go - then you can tie it up to the chassis and at least get home OK.

In my experience when they snap it's from a crack that develops in the threaded part. Should be good for a few 10's of thousands of miles but you never know.... better safe than sorry.

Fingers crossed too for getting it on the road!
