Hi Rob

With the work you have done or had done most would have your hand off given the chance to purchase, thats why you should keep it.

Delays and hick-ups are soon forgot, likely just on the run up to the RNR.

keep with the faith

see you soon

getting rid of the wedge.
Hi Mate..I have been feeling the same lately as all i do is spend out on my wedge even more so with the blower fitted but i dont want to go back to shyte run of the mill tin top tat..There are cars that i would love but need to win the lottery first in order to acquire them.

Try to stick with it mate, After all you have been waiting a long time for yours to be sorted..You are not alone if it helps!..Poor old martin has been waiting an eternity for his and its still no further forward.

I suppose in an ideal world if the wedge was as reliable as modern cars then everyone would drive them but they are not and it takes a certain class of people to appreciate them...Even if we are a bit mad.. wobble..Chin up mate...Ziga

Already have a buyer for it.

Some of the dheads on here have made owning a wedge a bit of a disappointment being honest, cliques are made by people who are unable to stand on there own, got to be in groups, ignorant fkers.

Dont let the bds grind you down mate.

Whenever you get a group of people you always end up with cliques and people acting like dheads but IMO there are some really good helpful people in the world of wedges, people I am glad that I know and that have made the whole process of buying a wedge and sorting the issues a lot easier for me.
I went to a car show today, Trickie was there in his 400 and we had an impromptu tunnel run back through leeds, my 8 yr old was laughing like a loon at the noise through the tunnels.

Dont give up just because of a falling out, get out in the wedge and you will remember why you got one in the first place.

Rob,

I reckon you'll feel different after a good glug of Rusty.

Don't let em get you down.

I nearly didn't bother with Wedge fest this year, took a good talking to by a few good men to get me there. Glad I went though.

You've got a bloody good motor there, if you sell it we'll have to call you Wyn the 2nd biggrin

Once Wedges are in your blood you'll never be free (or sane) again.

Rob, you love that motor. dont flog it. i agree you'll feel different after a fag, pint and a blast at the rnr.
As to cliques, why not start a "good guy clique" and wear the other b***ards down till they sell up. you must tell me who they are tho! Hope i'm not one!

It's a bit disappointing to read people here describing fellow Wedgers as bds. Whatever you may think of someone, resorting to personal abuse is usually the last resort. I don't generally care what people think of me, I do my own thing, and if it coincides with what fellow Wedges do, that's great. Without wishing to delve into the nitty gritty of it, I'm finding it difficult to understand how or why someone could let others' opinions potentially spoil the enjoyment of their Wedge.

Rob, I know you're having a bit of a crap time just now but why sell the car? You've hardly had any use out of this one with the engine rebuild and now the suspension. You know as well as I do in two months time you'll just have to buy another one then throw another 6 grand at it to make it as good at this one! Keep it man, you know it makes sense.

I have had to keep my wedge off the road all summer due to financial restraints and thought about selling it as that would have been the sensible thing to do but I enjoy it so much and the meets I have been on and the great people I have met I have said b******s to it. I know there has been a lot of negativity on the forums this summer which is a shame and some of it has been way to personel but that wont get me down and I would urge you to do the same.

What is different about us is we a bunch of enthusiast who are not under the auspices of a club. In that way we can express freely our thoughts within the publishing rules of Pistonheads. However as in a club, there will be different opinions, strengths and weaknesses (consultant coming out in me again). You can call it politics, I call it human nature. Over the past few months, some of the worst aspects of human nature have come out, but such is life. Those who have the strength, willingness and dare I say passion, to continue with the Wedge tradition, then join in and support each other.

As you have read from my ...what do you want ... post, I have taken on the monkey of worrying about BBWF as an item in the Wedge community for which we must not give up. I have made some progress, so watch this space.

You are probably right there Roy,

Yes I am going through the mill a bit personally but in the past when I have had issues, this forum and the people have been a great source of strength for me, and others that is partly why I was drew to the forum not just for the cars but the friendship they brought. Now thought the bhing I can handle no problem I have shoulders as wide as a double decker bus and I am as hard as nails, but what I do suffer with is ignorance. Now my story is I was brought up by my ex military father and I was brought up with manners and the note that to actually be ignorant you have to work at it as it doesn't come naturally.

From a personal point of view most of the time I reply to posts and appear to be completely ignored, this wasn't the case until recently, now if there is a reason for this please if anybody has an issue with me here is your BIG chance come on get it off your chest, on a public forum. I have been around the wedges for along time now, but may of not met most of you, so if anyone has an opinion of me it has got to have been brought about by word of mouth, well if we all worked that way the world just wouldn't turn, personally I make my own mind up about people because I am an adult not a bairn.

Maybe it is because I say it as it is and people don't like it, well the truth is hard to handle for some people. My good mate Dixie came on here not long ago to try and right a few wrongs and got called an idiot........Why?????

Rant well and truly over.

Keep calm and carry on wedging

Rob

Was this aimed at me?

If it was I was not calling anyone a bd, I have no axe to grind with anyone,it is merely a saying, it wasnt aimed at anyone in particular. People have been almost universally friendly and helpful to me and I have met some really nice people since i joined the wedge world and I just hate the thought of someone giving up their wedge because of a difference of opinion.
