Well the magpie in me made me bid on them mega expensive rockers at the last second and win them.

Now I have seen them I think they maybe issues with them. They don't have the restriction plates fitted inside of them and there is nowhere for them to be fitted.

They obviously play a vital role in restricting excessive oil from entering the flame trap and the breather thingy at the back.

My concern is once fitted they would pass oil through the flame trap and also out of the breather and possibly onto the hot manifolds then woosh.... fire....!!

They also have screw holes right the way through them for the HT lead holders which are tapped into special parts of the original rockers. These are going to need to be plugged with Bolts and O-rings....Not right I am sure. Anyone else got these fitted??

What do you think guys???

All advice appreciated.

Cheers

Do they have the internal plates on them. And have all of the holes been plugged off...?? As I say don't want to risk it, unless completely sure.

The 390 has the trap fitted in the cover. The holes are all there for the leads holder the others are blanked off.

Hi, You could always fit a catch tank, which would prevent the oil getting through if its a concern, and its another bit of bling to boot.

My baffle plates have been removed due to Group B adjustable rockers being used.

No problems that I'm aware of.

I`ve got the original TVR covers. Theres no baffles inside but this doesnt cause any problems.

As for the holes, if you are not going to use them fill them with liquid metal. before you do though, countersink the hole from the outside, just in case, to stop the liquid metal falling through. Not that it would tho, it gets a proper grip. Sand down and paint your favourite colour.

Rob, If i remember correctly there are two types of splash plate, one which bolts into the rocker covers, the other which bolts on top of the rocker pillars themselves.

Might have some knocking around in the workshop if you need some.

Ben
Cheers Ben, if it is the ones that bolt onto the pillars that would be ace.

Thanks a lot.

Got a pair on mine - holes through where the lead clips fit, but easily sealed with rubber washers under the screw heads. Not sure about the splash guards though, but I have fitted an additional catch tank / vapour condenser, to avoid too much being fed back into the intake.
