Anyone got any reports on it. Sounds like a good idea like.

Hi Mate..Are you sure its for older engines?..What about steam cleaning the engine internally..Sounds weird but works...Ziga

Jeff

One of our local TVR guys Martin does it for around 100 quid. I had a chat with him and he and a few other guys said its money we'll spent. I had planned to get mine in over the summer for a clean and tune up but as the engine is coming out in November for the gearbox rebuild I thought I'd leave it until the spring.

How you getting on with your motor?

Its on top form all the little jobs done and is running lovely now karl. I was asking about terraclean mainly for my daily hack as the emissions are quite high. I changed the head gaskets on the wedge less than 4k ago and done a de coke on the valves etc then so im sure it wont affect the performance alot.

For the wedge I have been discussing with HJ2 the merits of just putting pure water through the engine.

The idea is to run it up to temp and then dribble water into the air intake. Keep doing this for about 20 minutes or so then take it for a run straight away to clear out any residual moisture.

It's supposed to decoke and, of course, it's virtually free!

Would "misting" it in with something like a trigger spray bottle be better ?

I've seen the water trick done a few times

Low pressure hose on 'spray' in the intake hold the engine at 3-4k

Should do it,

As for it making a difference......

I'd like to see emmisions and dyno results before and after to be convinced

Yeah you need a reasonable dribble rather than a spray.

Too right I would also like to see before/after results.

Mine has been decoked recently so not much difference I suspect but I might try it in a couple of years. An endoscope down the spark plug holes should reveal all.

Here is a vid of someone doing it..Not sure its something i would attempt although it is recommended for turbo and Supercharged engine's..Not sure by whom though...

Dragsters use water injection (and superchargers)

Terraclean
Sun have had machines that inject solvents for years.
I have used a later machine on four cars (can't remember the name of the machine)
Hardest part is setting up and selecting the correct connectors for the fuel rail.

One car showed marked improvement, two ran a little smoother, one no difference.
It is possible with three of the cars I could have got the same result by putting fuel additive in the tank and spraying carb cleaner in the butterfly !

However, Terraclean possibly has a new and improved solvent.

I would guess that cars that run high COs benefit more than a regular daily driver.
I did not test hydrocarbons before and after, I'm just not that anal (well not quitesmile)
