You going to put a V8 in Delilah Zig, or go and look for a V8 car?

Cheers chaps..Yeah had a replacement lump fitted, It has 100K on it but dont smoke or leak any fluids and still pulls pretty good..And farts very loudly..biggrin

Had a fair bit of cleaning to do as there is so much oil everywhere from the leaky crank seal, Which was almost turned inside out!..Im just glad to have her back..It was a very expensive lesson but I'm not going to be using the blower again so hopefully i can pull some money back in..
I would like to find a mechanically sorted V8 and then i can plod along with the rest...If not then next year i might bite another bullet and go the 3.5 conversion route...Not sure yet though...Cheers...Ziga

Great you're back on the road Zig. My Dad always said 'if you want a faster car, buy one' I must admit I didn't listen to him in the past but he is right...

Mark

Just caught up on recent events. Looked like a really nice install but there are obviously risks when you try and do something a bit 'out there'. I applaud you for trying though. Glad to hear she's back in your life smile

Hi Zig,

Bet you're glad to have the TVR back, hope your luck changes from now on with it!

And for the future, remember if you want a fast car... buy a fast car !

Zig. I bet you're glad Delilah is up and running, but I can sense you want more speed. Remember what Einstein said. 'Time slows down with speed' It's the only thing that'll keep you looking young. Drop in a V8 (Yank).

Good youve got Delilah back zig. Dont worry about V8's and all that at the moment just put some miles under Delilahs wheels (its TVR therapy)- the decision of what to do next will become clear once the disappointment of recent events with the supercharger has eased a bit.

Your car is saying to you "keep me original !!"....... Like others have said ,get a V8. The 350i is , as I have said before on this forum, a highly underrated car. Several examples at good prices for sale at the moment. The cracking looking gold/biege example on e-bay is the best colour too.

Glad to hear you're wedging again Zig. In fairness you could never call a 280 a slow car, stomp on the loud pedal and if you don't get a rush you're doing it wrong smile Faaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrttttt!!!!!!!
