Replacing the uj's on my 350i prop shaft, does anybody know the hardy spicer replacement part number. On measuring the outside diameter of the needle roller housings, they are the same diameter as the driveshaft uj's but the actual needle bearings look bigger in diameter ? Help anyone.

Off the top of my head whilst I'm eating my takeaway, HS166 or HS179 according to size IIRC.

ETA Landrover RTC3346 also fit (either prop or driveshafts, can't recall which!).

They are standard sizes. What you need to measure are the cap diameter (clean off the rusty crud first) which is the same as the diameter of the hole in the yoke.

The other dimension to confirm is the distance between the end caps. Calipers will be best for both measurements.

There are only two sizes used on Wedges so it should be relatively easy to spot which is which.

HS166 (or the Landrover part above): 27mm diameter and 82mm across the caps (350i prop and driveshafts, 390SE prop only)

HS179: 30.2mm diameter and 106.3mm acrosss the caps (390SE driveshafts)
