frown…….hurl…...weeping…..End of a Chapter….Must say it was sad to see her drive off without me…She was my first TVR and she brought me a whole bunch of great friends and adventures..She also helped me through the last stages of my Agoraphobia..Helped find my father after not seeing him or knowing where he was for 35 years..(Strange)..But i still have the friends and the adventures will continue..There were a couple of sad things surrounding Delilah towards the end what with the passing of my father and being dumped by a close friend once i had helped her overcome deep depression by taking her out in Delilah and being there for her…So time to move on to the next chapter…Bye Delilah..Love you always….Ziga

I have met so many great people during ownership and have so many great memories its the best car/club ever and if the worst happens I wont abandon the wedge scene. I know you have another love and I wish you all the best pal. Long live the wedge!!

Zig,

Really sad to read that you've had to part company with your beloved Delilah. I have seen your name pop up on various subjects over my short time in the TVR world, just over a year for me.

Reading your post really had a lump forming in my throat, the car seems to have brought you so much happiness and got you through an awfull lot, I could feel the emotion. I hope this isn't the end of your TVR adventure?? Only had 18 months with mine (Chimara) and it's been a joy, helped me get through the toughest parts of my divorce and the bad times around it. Amazing what a lump of metal/GRP can do to a man smile

Hi Nick..I have moved on to a V8 Wedge..(Poppy)..So the adventure continues...And you are right about a car getting under your skin, TVR's seem to have a spirit all of their own..They are not the best built car but they are unique and command a particular person to own them..They seem to bring out the passion and the will to continue come what may..I have never felt emotional over any car before..My V8 will never mean to me what Delilah did but the love for them continues...beer

Can't help but feel to blame for all this Mark! If I hadn't sold the 450 to your friend, you wouldn't have bought his 350!!
Having said that, by all accounts you are happy with your new toy! I'm sure Delilah has gone to a good home.
Enjoy and look forward to seeing you at BBWF'14 with either the Cerb, the MG or possibly a Jensen Interceptor!!

Hi Mark, great to see you today out in the new toy. Mixed feelings for you, but it has gone to a good owner and a nice quick sale!

I reckon the best thing is to remember the good times fondly, and try to forget the bad. Accept that you learned a hell of a lot....and some of it from the bad things. I still miss one of my kit cars in particular, but I also know that nothing lasts forever. I can see some of the disasters are now humourous when I remember...

(like an Essex V6 engine breaking the hoist, and falling into the car......I still have the scar on my finger, and it still doesn't work quite right due to the severed tendon)

I hope you told Delilah's new owner about this forum !

Now you have a new passion, and what you learned from Delilah will definitley help.

And of course the good old Northern expression "there's nowt so queer as folk" sums up a lot about people, friends and aquantances alike. Then there's us wedgers, who are even weirder....

Best of luck, and try not to be too sad...

Hi Matt…Alls well that ends well..She has gone to a good home ..I couldn't keep ploughing money at her..Maybe if the blower had worked but it never ..It was a big expensive circle..It was time to scratch the V8 itch and thanks to you i now have…Cheers…Ziga

Hi Andy…I did learn a lot and will remember most of it if i ever need to help anyone again..The RV8 is another learning curve and its onwards and upwards as they say…Im sure Delilahs new owner will join us at some point..He better or i will be on to his dad...hehe..Apparently Delilah has played up already…Winky headlight syndrome!..She probably has a nervous twitch again which will pass..Also the new owner has been out in her tonight and walked through the door with a big grin on his face..The TVR grin that is…Cool...

Mark,

You will be in the great position of knowing about the V6 AND the V8, which is cool....

So Delilah's new owner cen get straight into "POD fix" mode...what comes around goes around !!

Ah, the TVR grin - another convert to the cause.

Got to say, been reading your exploits, though not chipped in (would have been no help), and I would have given up long before you. You certainly have a passion for the car.

Morning Zig,
told you i'd sort out my pistonheads account smile Delilah had her first night on a driveway in a while, thought i heard a banging in the night, put it down to neighbours getting it on and not delilahs noisy ass. woke up this morning and looked out at her with a grin on my face biggrin Even the girlfriend was laughing as i roared up the main road at 10.30 last night with what sounded like fireworks behind us smile shes got her niggles but the noise makes up for those smile Delilah that is, not the girlfriend biggrin

Me being a bit conservative and not wanting to pishh people off feel she's helish.noisey but oll Tobs.can't stop grinning with all them pops and bangs, he's been everywhere today including Tesco err twice! Can't keep him out of old Delilah, randy little begger.
