Hi, We all know that wedges have Ford parts on them, early wedges have Capri rear lights and all wedges have ford door handles and BL parts also abound inside, and i even know that the later wedges rear lights come from the Renault Fuego, but does anyone know the make and model of the car the early wedge wing mirrors come from? i know the first wedges 1980 -81 did not have much in terms of wing mirrors just anything that TVR could find but the late 280i and early 350i 1982-85 had a standard wing mirror that tended to droop and there metal backs rust out (know remedied with a fibre glass replacement) and then from 1985 onwards TVR themselves made a fibre glass pod type. These later pods are very nice to and really suit the car.

If you want to pay the money TET will make you the pods to order, look up TET mouldings and give him a call, you'll have to source the internals and mirror afterwards but I would imagine there's quite a scope for that.

Rumour had it that the metal bodied ones were early Range Rover.

...and they're door mirrors, not wing mirrors wink

The innards of the "integrated" electric mirrors are the same the same a similarly aged BMW (and others???). There are some threads on this. Grady

Sorry yes i should have said door mirrors, anyway thanks guys for the info on this, when i purchased my 280i it had naff none original door mirrors and as i like the original type very much i have managed to find all the parts to be able to put 2 mirrors together but the metal backs are rusty so i will now get some glass fibre backs from TET.
