Well I've had my 350i for 15 years now and have been running the same 205x60x15 as it said it came out of the factory with, and have always thought the steering was heavy and wished it had the PAS option. The car has been in with the 2 Phil's at Aeromotive having a lot of work done on her this year, earlier in the year having nearly all new ignition system, cables, coils etc and new Shocks and springs on the front (Shock being the right word, as it was found to have 1 TVR spring and 1 Cortina springconfused, and I can tell you there is a difference of about 2 inches in height and a few mm in width) after this the steering was a bit better. It has now been in for the rear shocks and springs, UJ's and Shinny bitsbiggrin and along with the shinny bits biggrin(see pics) 205x50x15 toyo tyres, well it is a different car for the first time ever I can steer it 1 handed, it feels light and nimble, it is a joy to drive.
So if like me you've read these forums looking to see what size tyre is right (and there are lots of opinions) I can categorically state 205x50x15 are what should be on a S2 350i (and the right springsrolleyes.)
Also I'd like to thank Phil for all his hard work and great advice.

Mark, you just need to measure across the two outer A frame bushes, the bottom shock bush and the outer hub assembly an add a bit for washers and the nut to get the bolt length, I think I cut mine off years ago coz they had seized on the bushes, loads of copper ease is what you need.

Hi Taff
Nice to see another yorkshire wedger, especially as you must be fairly close to me if you have taken your car to the Phils (I live about 2 minutes walk from their spot)
Do you go to any of the tvrcc meets/events?

Having had an S2 350 for a few years, the correct tyre size on the standard 7" wheels is 205 60 15. Changing to the size you mention may well have improved the handling, as not only have you reduced the sidewall height, but you have lowered car by 20mm as well. In addition, the speedo will now be over-reading by 6.5%. Just putting the correct springs / dampers on should have made a dramatic difference. Experimenting with tyre pressures from the standard 22F 24R can also improve things.

Andy - Colin (Taffo) lives 1/2 mile from me and has done a few WY events with me
