Run the engine up to normal running temperature then check the pipes under the bonnet that run to the heater matrix inside the car. If only the inlet gets hot or if they are both cold then the valve that opens and shuts from the interior cable or the cable itself is faulty. If both pipes are hot but still no heat on the interior, the problem could be an air lock.

From my experience of dismantling the heater box the air is possibly escaping from box joints or the fan joints to the box or to the bulkhead, the inside of the box is not contoured for aiding air flow and the heat diverter is like a rough fly swat. Wooly
John, was it you that did a complete heater re-design recently, or was it Mart the Hat? I'm running out of bts to fiddle with on my car, need to line up next year's projects before Nursy comes up with a carport to paint or trees to lop
Hi Ian, merry Christmas matey, I did remake a heater box roughly following the outer dimensions of the old unit but I used some 6mm carbonate sheet to make it because that's what I had in the garage, just screwed the thing together then adding plumbing waste fittings inside to aid some sort of air flow, I did make it so I can extract the matrix from the front by just removing the centre heater / radio housing, sealed the box joints with adhesive so if the matrix leaks I could probably keep tropical fish in there, sprayed it up in nice professional black to match the tyres. John.
Had a bit of joy with this. it was an airlock which i think i have got rid of but experience tells me it can take a few attempts to really sort it. didnt have a valve and i took off the pipe from the manifold to the heater then the one that comes back to the manifold and ran water from my hose pipe through it to see if there was any crud in there which there wasnt.filled up and burbed the system and it is better but still not great.
