I have a cassette player in my 350, when I was emptying my garage out I found a portable CD player with one of those dummy cassettes to go in the stereo that I had in a car about a dozen years ago, the bloody thing still works! so I can now play cds through the cassette deck.

When I fitted a CD player to my Tasmin, I was so paranoid that some scum would thieve it that I made a dummy front for it to make it resemble a radio/cassette, complete with half a cassette sticking out of the slot biggrin

Ive just binned the 1992 Kenwood Tape deck and multichanger in favour for an Alpine CD / MP3 player that will interface into my iPhone. working out the 90's wiring was interesting .... as there were no DIN plugs, just a mass of spliced crimped wires !

Don't know how much speaker work you plan to do but if you want an easy trick, stick some Mazda MX/Miata speakers in the headrests. They fit perfectly and it takes under an hour to install the 4 little speakers, no need for perforation although I guess you could with a leather punch. I wired the front speakers to the headrest and the rears to the sideways speakers on the parcel shelf. (But use MAX-5 Headrest Speakers by Jeff Anderson.) There is a thread on here from long ago about the job. Grady
