Wedge service parts
Discussion
Hi all, just a short one as they say, to ask where generally is the best place to get your regular service items such as oil filter, plugs, belts etc? There are dozens of ads on Ebay but do people recommend buying the various bits from someone who knows the cars, such as Clever Trevor? Thanks.
Obvious point: find out when it was last serviced. Some of these cars change hands so regularly it's possible the oil hasn't worn out from the last owner's post-purchase service.
Spark plugs don't 'wear', at least not in the sort of miles most Wedges do. I still have the plugs that were in my 390SE when I bought it in 2000; I changed them without realising they'd only done 1000 miles (found the receipt in the previous owner's notes), then bead-blasted them clean and kept them as spares. The ones I fitted in 2000 are still in: they've done about 20,000 miles.
Clean them, check the gaps and bang them back in. Spend the money on petrol.
