Hey

About to change fuelpump, but noticed a different number on the pumpbody,
old one says 580 464 070
new one 580 464 125
If wrong pump is fitted what could go wrong,to much fuelpressure?
Cannot find any technical info on the new pumpnumber,

thanks for any advice

A bit more fuel pressure wouldn't be a problem, the rail regulator will just dump it back to the tanks.
Not enough pressure would be a problem biggrin
If it was significantly more pressure and the regulator couldn't dump it, you'd probably have overfuelling for a start. Burst fuel lines might be possible if they're old and perished.
Fit a fuel pressure gauge in place of the cold start injector and see how it runs (ignition on and move the airflow meter flap to pressurise the system without spraying the injectors).
