Hi all, and many thanks for the interest. Well the Wedge is home and amazingly it ran without fault once it was warmed up. Even more astounding was the relatively leak free run back despite the monsoon. There were a couple of drops ran down the passenger window but that needs adjusting anyway.
So, it's actually a 1988 standard 350i with 105k on the clock. It's only done 1300 miles in the last 4 years. Condition appears to be very good. The car hadn't been run in anger since last October so it coughed and spluttered a bit while it warmed up but for the 2 hour journey home it just got stronger and sweeter. Brakes and steering are great. There are two immediate issues, apart from fluid and plug change. Third gear is a bugger to select. Even when warm it's no better. I'm told that the 'box can be adjusted?? I'll have to read up in the manual. Only other minor issue is the horn not working.
The car has come with a very comprehensive history file, with all major receipts, all MOT's and fairly good service history. Also came with a full set of workshop manuals (5 of them) for just about everything, a half cover, a targa panel cover, unused space saver spare wheel and mint condition original jack. The outriggers have been "done" and theres photo evidence of the work undertaken.
Reading through the receipts it's had a few large bills - new gearbox and clutch from Nigel Mansell sports cars at 77,125 miles (back in 1995), new front and rear discs, stainless exhaust (1999), new ECU (2000), full re-trim with carpets and veneers in 2001.
Anyway I've tried to add some photos here although only one shows when I check the "preview". If they don't all post then I'll add them later. Sorry for the quality but I'd just about run out of light by the time I got home. The interior shots are pants so I'll take some better ones later in the week. Cheers.
??? I bow to the experts - I only know it looks great, goes like stink and sounds fantastic. Lots of wires all over the place under the dashboard mind. Although apart from the horn everything works. There is also a main electrical battery kill switch mounted in the corner near the battery.
Very nice...I like the biscuit interior...Mines an 88 but has the small centre console, I think i would prefer the dash that you have...The engine looks un-molested..It looks like its had a new oil filter so hopefully it has some 20/50w in there...Is there any mention of servicing?..The horn could just be a fuse or the connection at the horn itself might need cleaning and re-fitting...Looks a great car...Enjoy...Ziga
I'm far from an expert mate. But I've not seen a 350 with that dash before. They all have wiring all over the place you should see the state of my black one. In fact I'll try and put a pick up tomorrow it will make a lot of people with rough projects feel a lot better!
It may have come out of the factory with that dash as its a TVR after all and I would think potential customers would have been able to spec what they wanted at the factory?
It may also have been added later?
Either way it look the Muts Nuts. Nice interior exterior combo. Some of them have a dummy horn push one the wheel I think but mine are both old fashioned indicator stalk jobs.
Some of the long termers will be along to put me right in a minute

Thanks Ziga. Oil was crystal clear and clean plus owner gave me 1/3rd of gallon of 20w/50. Service history is good until 2011 but nothing obvious since. Oil pressure was around the 25psi when hot at 2000 revs, and about 28psi at 2500. It did drop off down to 10 or 12 at tick over which is around 500rpm so I'll bring that up a little. I've some photos of the chassis from last year which I'll post tomorrow evening. A bit of minor rust colouring but nothing much. There are several receipts for wax oiling in the pack. Cheers.

Also the heater controls are above the CD Player and not underneath like a 4 series wedge.

As Mark said I really prefer this type of interior over the normal 350 makes it feel slightly less confined IMHO.
