Hi all a little help needed please!
I've just bought a pair of Performance heads and uprated cam kit off a well known internet auction site. The vendor used to post on here (dellyend1) but has sold his wedge and was selling the heads and cam separately as he'd never got round to fitting them. The heads are stage one made by these guys http://www.procompelectronics.com/catalog.shtml
Is anyone familiar with these heads ?
Are they any better than the std 350 heads?
I'm in 2 minds of what to do
1 just fit the cam kit and leave my std heads on or
2 fit the cam and the heads
Can't seem to find any info on the web about the heads and I don't know if my std heads flow well or not so I'm not sure if changing them is going to be a worthwhile upgrade or not ?
All information or recommendations welcomed
Cheers fellas thumbup

www.v8engines.com/faq-conv.htm#can-i-use-existing-...
Seems it is advised to use stage 1 at least.

Thought there was more of an explanation on all stages of cylinder heads, but can't find it at the moment.

Cheers Bobby
Picking up the heads today - pics later. They come with a kent 214 cam kit ( cam, lifters ,chain, and sprockets). Bought it for the cam kit really as I've got a bit of tappet noise but if the heads are ok ill fit them too. If not you'll see them back on the bay. biggrin

here is a set i'm currently porting for a friend (i'd call these a stage 1 & 2/3rds biggrin)
How are you me ole mucker....Always good to see you posting up wonderful knowledge...Your Wedge is looking fantastic!...
Now then....Porting you say....scratchchin... = MORE.....lick....hehe

Don't worry I'm I'm only messing but do wonder what mods would be advantageous for the standard lump..3.5 to gain some extra horses, But have learnt that throwing money at an engine in a quest to get more power ended in tears for me last time and cost an arm..A leg..And a couple of ribs.....weeping

I think i would go for a bigger motor as they say.."There is no substitute for cubes"..That in mind though i would like to have porting and bigger valves before it was fitted..Would be interesting to know cost's?...(Email preferably)
Cheers...Ziga

Picked up my bits today
Cam-
Heads were not from pro performance they are normal rover heads Heads have double valve springs

Inlet ports
Valves are standard size - head has been stamped with PT1 - I'm guessing for ported stage 1

Found a label in the box for a website www.DJEV8 .co but doesn't seem to be working at the moment. After a google search it seems the guy who runs it is Dave Ellis who seems to be well known in V8 tuning circles. Just waiting to hear from the guy I got the stuff from if the heads came from him originally.
Once I've got hold of a valve spring compressor I'll post up some pics of the valve throats.
