I'm going to get myself in trouble now, but while we under value and sell them for less than they are worth in parts, these guys are gonna strip em!

Rik, you're quite right, but it's not us that undervalues them, it's market conditions.

Yeah that's good point Adam, maybe if Les Edgar is what appears to be, it may drive the prices up!
I won't hold my breath though!

Not forever, the tides will change that's for sure. All it takes is a classic car mag to run an article saying its the best value sports car / V8 etc blah and boom!!!!

Well that's what I hope lol

Yeah that's my theory on the rebirth of TVR next year.
But like I say I don't wanna get too carried away on that!

I've had Wedges since 1995 and I keep hearing that they're set to shoot up in value.
I've started buying shares in stable Middle Eastern states as I think they're more reliable.

The Wedge shape is not pleasing to the eye for most people, so the market is limited. Appearance in a TV series would be the greatest lift to prices.

I guess its a numbers game...If say there were only 10 wedges left then maybe the prices would sky rocket..The rarer cars would be worth a fortune...But its the old catch 22...When selling a car you want to get as much as you can..However when buying you want to get a bargain and pay as less as you can...So where is the happy medium?... I think we are at that point now.

I personally couldn't afford a Wedge when i first fell in love with them 30 years ago...But now i can...(Just about)..The joy these cars give out way what is spent on them..I should imagine if any of them are worth money then it will be the prototypes or cars that have a solid historical possibly scandalous background..Like someone famous getting pleasured by someone else famous and the stains are still there to prove it....All this first..second..last...Press car...Green with yellow dot's is all bullst..All it does is undermine the rest, In that respect they are all as important.

When i spoke to Oliver winterbottom at last years fest i asked if he had any memories as regards to Chassis No.2 and he said that it went to Germany but he couldn't remember why, Maybe it was the first 280i Cologne based car?..Or it was used as a marketing car?..Or maybe it was used in a German porn movie?...At the end of the day its another car that needs saving...We could of let it go to a few different people some outside of this country but we decided to let it go to someone who will restore it back to its original condition in this country...We decided we didn't want to be too fussed about the provenance of the car as we wouldn't see any great investment in our lifetime.

If you want to invest in something then "Brown" furniture..(Victorian & Earlier).. is at an all time low..Early sports memorabilia..Swatch watches..(If you can find them)...and antique silver is a good investment.

I agree that these cars should be saved...Brought back to a drivable condition and used...Not wrapped up in cotton wool and tucked up in a garage for the rest of its days...If i owned the SEAC racer for instance i would convert it back to a road car and enjoy it...Drive it to every event i could for people to admire...Yes it has a good history but it might have a bleak future!....ITS A CAR FFS!!.....Lets keep them alive...Keep them wheels moving and the fluids flowing...Cheers...Ziga

I'll hang on to mine for as long as I can be happy to drive it, look at the old mk1 and mk2 escorts, they sold dirt cheap donkeys years ago and now look at the price of them, I've heard so many people say they wish they still had that old car coz it would be worth a fortune now. That's assuming the mad cracked snorters who call them selves 'government' don't decide to introduce some half baked idea to outlaw our cars!

well im planning on hanging onto both of mine...The pink racer is fairly well known, and my barn find low miles 280 tasmin rag top is erm still a barn find just in a different barn. the chassis on it is mint so I'll restore it one day, although probably not with a 2.8. the original engine can go in a box somewhere.. I quite fancy slotting a 302 in there..
