As the title, I put a deposit down yesterday on a very nice 3.5 V8 wedge drop head yesterday, the interior lets it down a little, but bought it from a dealer who is sorting out the interior and a couple of other little bits for me.

Soooo a 3-4 week wait before I collect it, its going to be a long wait! Hopefully the weather might improve!!!!

I don't have any pictures yet, but when I do I will post some up.

Interested to see if the V8's live up to what you boys and girls shout about, as my turbo is fairly quick by wedge standards......

Chris.

Hi Chris, only been a 350i owner myself for a few weeks, but the shape, sound and excitement of driving it are addictive. Not that I've had the opportunity to give it full beans yet. Just need some bloody dry weather. Had 4' of water outside our house today which somewhat scuppered my plans for a drive.

Hi Chris, Welcome to the two TVR fraternity... I suspect it won't be as quick as your turbo, but feel the low end grunt and lap up the noise!!

here's a question.........just also bought my first wedge (see below) and its my 7th TVR.......how come the wedge sounds a million times better / meaner / dirtier than all the other Chim's, Speed Six, V6's etc TVR's I've owned in the past?

Not that I'm moaning just wondered :-)

One of TVR best kept secrets. I guess a lot of people who don't like the look of them don't pay enough attention to the noise they also make. I come so close to selling mine yesterday, the sound of it was a big factor in pulling out of the sale.

Tony had yours sounding ace, I remember BBWF 2009 when we where testing the db meter, I remember it doing something crackers like 118db on tick over.

I think its down to the exhaust design..Headers on the Chim's..Griff's have that big "Y" piece that creates a deep "Wet" bubbling tone...(Bit like me in the morning)..The Wedge from 350i-450SE kinda has the same sound but with different degrees of filth...My V6 had pretty much no silencers and at 119db it was loud but had a bit of a rasp to it although at higher speeds it "Clacked" along like a gargling ogar...The ford guy i use to use said that he has never heard a V6 Cologne like it and he has been working on 2.8i for the last 30 years....laugh...There are people on here who can vouch for Delilah being louder than..A 350i...390SE...400SE...5.3 Chim and a 5ltr Gredge.....Played all together its a symphony of the Devil....Ziga

PS: Hi Chris...You will love the V8......
