Right dont know the terminology for this but I am after the bit that the glass sits in that then attaches to the window mechanism, mine have rusted and opened up so that the glass isnt being held in properly. Does this make sense to anyone? Can you get them or is it something that needs to be made?

I can say from many scrapper visits over the years......

The window channels are all basically the same, but there are a few different subtypes, sizes, lengths.
You just need to find one which matches the pulley/roller wheels of the lifter mechanism.

As the winder mechanism is Rover, any BL vehicle you can find is probably a good start, but I think that the Ford Cortina ones are compatible ? Not sure.

Mine popped out some time ago, I just sat it back in and used a good building adhesive/sealant to secure it in the channel, 'sticks like' do a clear one now and its good stuff. Many baths and shower trays fixed with it so a bit of glass should be no problem. John.

Yeah the same with mine ...rusted real bad and the glass was all over the place ..with the door panel off l removed the window and grinded the rust off to expose some good metal then like John I glued it' I used an auto body two part adhesive and did the windows up and let it sit there over night to cure. ..cheap fix and very happy with it as the window is now solid and sturdy biggrin

I had to get my door glass replaced last year - I had this done by Paul at Glasstec - when he took off the door card the runner the glass sits in (which I assume is the piece you are talking about) was in a really bad way so Paul decided to get it shotblasted and refurbed before fitting it back into the car .... he really went the extra mile

Ended up looking like this

Yes. Have a look on the rimmer website, they have a picture of it.

I could have sworn that those channels on my car were galvanised.
