New SEAC Owner..
Discussion
I thought I would 'come out' so to speak, and identify myself as the person who has bought/in the process of buying, the 420 SEAC for sale at Track v Road.
I am well aware of this car, and have looked back on posts written on here. I know that unfortunately back in the mid 1990's the original engine died, which is a shame, but...what other alternative would there have been, an LS3 transplant? Not for me. Maybe just scrap the car, as only the original engine should deem it a SEAC? That would be a shame.
As most of you will know, this SEAC was originally D175 ALL which has appeared in numerous articles, including Steve Heaths Bible. I believe it is listed on the SEAC register?
The car is one of the few with carbon and is fully rose-jointed. The previous owners have spent a fortune on this car, and as I'm a fan of TVR Wedges, particularly the SEACs I'm just relieved it is still here amongst us fans who love these cars the most.
The engine whilst not being the original anymore is now what I consider..the next best thing for this car to survive, a 5 litre Griffith engine. I believe given all the choices this engine best represents what the SEACs were all about, power, noise!
It is still a TVR Rover V8, and it comes from what can only be described as a true classic TVR, the Griffith. So for me, it's the best option there could possibly have been. I do believe that the engine work was completed by V8 developments along with Tim at ACT. It also has a carbon plenum from ACT. Who knows, had TVR continued with the Wedge & SEAC, the 5 litre Rover V8 may well have been the SEACs next heart.
Ok, the purpose of this post was just by way of introduction. I was a regular poster on here up until 3 years ago when I unfortunately had to sell my last Wedge, which was a 450 SEAC, so I know my way around these cars. Originality is important to me, but the existence of these cars is more important. One less SEAC in this world would be sad for many of us.
I hope the car and myself are made welcome because for me, this has always been a great forum, and we are all first and foremost fans of our TVR Wedges!
I look forward to chatting with you guys, plus getting out to some meets for some spirited driving. I have been without a TVR, more importantly...a Wedge for far to long, so I am really looking forward to getting out there again.
Please excuse the long winded introduction. All that is left to say is, Long live the BBW!

hi wayne
WOW, have said on my previous posting this car is a bargin (if you had the cash, kids at uni ruled me out)
When my 350 was sitting in my garage in bits i received in the post a sprint which documented the guy's purchase of this car (adam in think) and the number of SEAC he viewed before his purchase (remember sometime ago !)
Later it re-appeared as he sprinted it, (will see if i can find them and post up for you) i was encouraged to carry on and get my 350 finished, ok, ok it may have taken me a few more years
best of luck and looking forward in seeing you and your motor at the bbwf

I was down at Track V Road a few weeks ago, drooling over this SEAC, so apologies for that, a sponge and a microfiber cloth will sort it though!
Congrats and owning such a great car mate,
I'll shuffle back to my 350i ..ha

It's been a few years since I last attended a Wedge Fest, so I'm very much looking forward to doing it again.

In my eyes there is no need to justify anything about this car, again imho it is just natural progression and if they were building these cars today they would be using newer modern uprated parts, the such that have been used on your new car.
You are a very lucky fella, and also would have bought this had my numbers come up.
Also because of your new car I changed my seats to the same as yours, hope you don't mind
