I know what you are saying. But all the jobs don't have to be done straight away? It's hard to tell from pics but if it runs and is solid underneath there's no reason it couldn't be enjoyed and improved over time.
I thought it was worth a look at at 2k or less. Just look at what other classics you can get for that sort of money. It's slim and boring pickings compared to a Wedge.
I nearly bought one last year for 1500 quid and it looked way worse than that one does! But it's hard to tell without looking at it.

They look like standard 350i wheels to me... and is it my eyes or do the 'SEi' badges actually say 'SE1'...?
Probably more small willy syndrome than a deliberate scamming attempt - like those who debadge a BMW to make people think it could be a better one than it actually is...
Definitely better than scrapyard material; I wish people would stop this nonsense about cars not being worth x, y or z value... not all car enthusiasts are in it for the money. I wonder how many people of that mentality would cheerfully go out and buy a ludicrously-priced TV set and then sell it for a tenner in a few years' time - now THAT is wasting money.
Just compare what buying and restoring a Wedge would cost, versus buying a new Merc SL - or any other car for that matter - and watching it depreciate before your eyes.

It's not about being in it for the money. If that was my reason for owning a car I wouldn't own a TVR!
It is IMO about common sense, why would anyone buy a munter for £2k when you can buy a nice example for £4-5k? If the car in question was a one-off or historically significant then that's another matter but this isn't.
All just my opinion of course.

Oh I dunno, for the experience, the challenge, the love, because they have more money than sense, as a tax write-off, because they used to own it, as a basis for a project... I'm sure there could be other reasons.Gassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
