Hi Peeps...Well i fitted the chrome door handles and interior pull trim and recovered the door handle in some slate grey vinyl..But look what i found on the drivers side window rail...Its about 5" of it so it will need to be replaced at some point...What a bugger....Cheers...Ziga

Very shiny but personally I'd prefer the black handles. Rusty stuff not very pretty at all. I'm sure there's a load hiding in mine somewhere too.....

I did think of painting them black but i have only just bought them and they were not cheap, It would of been easier if i could of found a couple of new barrels with keys as my old ones were knackered but i couldn't, It didn't seem worth removing the new ones to fit to the old ones.

Bit of a pi55er finding the rusty rail...Im going to at some point remove the sills to make them removable..I just hope i don't find any lurking under there...

You should have sprayed that rusty rail with oil and covered it in grease for now to stop it getting any worst until you get time to replace it. With any old TVR you take a chance that there could be rust lurking somewhere. Still, everything can be repaired. For now, just enjoy the car.

Hi Tony..I did give it a squirt of lithium grease as i was spraying up the lock and window mechanism while the door cards were off..I was even thinking of some kind of silicone but inevitably it will need replacing...I guess they are a bugger to do?...Ziga

Yup, mine are like that! I've filled\covered mine with the bilthammer rust proofer (which I use on the maser to stop it dissolving into thin air...)

Its quite strong but doesn't look pretty. Another job for another year but I think I've done enough for one season...! smile

Same as Matt-man, mine were rusty but still strong - paint, grease and forget... or if in a hurry just plaster with grease.

Also, I didn't fancy my chances of getting the old ones off and new ones on without damaging the glass!
