So having had the boot lid off to replace the catches/brackets and struts I cant get the catch to latch. 3 hours and lots of fiddling later and no joy. Suggestions or magic fairy dust welcome......

Hi mate...There are two bolts on the boot lid part, Have you tried un-doing them and moving the part down a small amount..Also try pressing down on the boot lid to close it...Ziga

Sounds obvious but it's fooled me in the past: you have got it in the 'released' position haven't you? If the pin on the bootlid catches the 'catch' in the wrong place it'll close the latch without actually latching closed... if you see what I mean! Pull the cable on the solenoid to make sure it's in the 'released' position as you're faffing around. You can test the mechanism by using a screwdriver to close the latch with the boot open and then use the solenoid or pull the cable to open the latch again.

Other than that it's playing around with slotted holes and/or stacks of washers - as I'm pretty sure TVR did when new...

Tried it all. I think it may be the height of the catch on the washers. Round 7...ding ding!!!!!!!

ibroker, think yourself lucky, I tried to reposition my catch over a year ago and managed to sheer the tops of the bolts off sillybanghead
Since then I have had a quick release boot lid ie nothing holding it down at all biggrin

I repainted the catch and then found the threads for the bolts in the boot lid were shot. Either that or the nuts inside were spinning.....Not happy but all done now..
