Trying to build up a suitable stock of spares for when the Wedge breaks down. Picked up a full fuel injection set up for SD1 Vitesse off eB, includes all injectors, relays, sensors, good plenum, the lot, all for £49. Also got a spare Capri expansion tank the other day for £12. From what I've heard you just cant have enough spares!

Totally ignorant here, is the expansion tank off a 2.8i capri used for our 350i, 400 etc? Any ideas what the overflow bottle is from?

I'm after a spare set if anyone can point me in the right direction biggrin

Expansion tank is off the Capri 2.8. Mine is a bit tatty and although not broken looks as if one of the connections may soon give up, hence thought I'd better get one "in stock" just in case. Not sure where the overflow bottle is from though??

Not bad but would have been better with the ECU... most of that is just scrap metal unless you fancy a bit of porting, shortening trumpets or polishing it all up for some bling biggrin
On the plus side it's quite a lot of aluminium so will net a few quid if you do need to weigh it in...

I was primarily after the sensors, relays and injectors so have a full spare set. Also keen to have a plenum to play with so I can "bling" it up Mr Ziga style!

Its good to strip most of it off..Except the throttle pot..The idle control valve is worth taking off and making sure its clean..You will need to make a new gasket for it and use some blue hylomar on it to seal it up afterwards.

The alloy fins will need some elbow grease to get them shiny and make sure the plenum is free from grease, Its also worth cleaning the inside and throttle plate.

You will also need to key up the surface that is to be painted..I find its easier to apply some vaseline with your finger to the polished surfaces so that the paint doesn't stick to it, Try to keep it on the flat surface only..When its been primed and sprayed the colour you want use an old credit card or plastic scraper on it to remove the excess paint..You might need to detail some little bits afterwards.

I used this primer:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VHT-LIGHT-GRAY-PRIMER-EN...
And their VHT spray paint as a top coat.
Hope this helps...Ziga

You talking about the over-run valve (rear of plenum)...? Only hotwire cars have the idle stabilisation valve. The ORV has nothing to go wrong really, as long as the spring is intact and the disc can seat properly.
I did have a plenum that hadn't been machined to take the ORV, it was just blank. I guess it must have been an early one.
