The black fibreglass thingyambob below

I was going to pull a mould off mine and redo it in a fibreglass/diolen mix for better impact resistance but mine is utterly buggered and no good for a mould pattern.

Did the 390 have these as standard? I got one from TET years back - I'm sure they must still have them.

I hav a pic somewhere of my '87 390 taken back in the 90s in which it wore one, however by the time I bought it, it had been removed (whether surgically or otherwise) and all I have is a load of self-tapper holes underneath.
It's on my to-do list... a long way down biggrin

I bought one just before Xmas it is very light in construction I think this is on purpose becourse if you made it too strong and fixed it better to the car when you hit a kerb the spoiler won't break as easy and you could damage the front of the car instead

Where did you get yours from Barrington?

The diolen mix i was planning to make one out of is very flexible, rather than being brittle like regular fibreglass, if it gets hit it tends to shed a bit of resin and spring back into shape.

If you find one let me know, I have one from my 430SE which is probably the same and has some damage but not too bad, I can send you that to make one up from, so long as you make me one too!! Let me know the cost, someone else may have a perfect one to lend perhaps, only a few self tappers and theyre off!

Cheers

I bought mine a few years ago from TET Mouldings near Blackpool

This is the link
http://www.b-link.co.uk/tet/

Can't remember how much though (old age setting in!!!)

I was told they are mostly cosmetic until over 100mph when they hold the front down

Mine does feel settled over 100mph (on the 2km runway we use)
