Can anybody provide me with a picture of the oil level dipstick that the 2.8 (1980) cologne engine is provided with.

Cheers.

Thanks very much for those photos. Very helpful.
The stick in the engine is of a different type with different guide levels. A rusty version of the one you illustrate was on the floor under the seat. When i put that in it reads about 12mm higher than max mark.
It doesn't have the plastic stopper seal at the top, but some tape to do the same job. I am not sure thart it is in the same position as the plastic on your photo. Would you mind measuring the distance from the max mark to the bottom edge of the plastic for me. The overfill might not be as bad as at first thought.

Cheers

hope the above pics help, had to resize them so the numbers might not show up to well
but the distance from max to plastic fitting (mine is a metal stopper/upturned funnel) is 35cm.

Cheers for taking the time.
Looking at the photo the tape reads closer to 390mm at the base of the yellow cap. Is the 350mm dimension that you refer to the 390 dim minus 'the bottom of stick to max mark'.

No bother graham
I measured the max line to the cap at 350mm. The kids were running around but I can take more accurate pics tomorrow when their at school. Definitely 350mm from max to cap tho.
