Can anyone tell me the size of the diff oil plug (the one for topping up not the drain plug) on a Power Lok diff? I am going to buy a set of plug keys and want to make sure I have the right size in the set.

Thanks in advance.

"Top Tip"

If it's a hexagonal hole find a bolt head or nut that fits then see what spanner fits the bolt... that's the size Allen key you need wink

Ok ..... looks like it could be a square hole getmecoat

Definitely square hole :-) I will give the 3/8" socket drive a go. It's in a really awkward place to get to.....a hole cut in the boot would help!!

Hi
I just did mine on the 350i yesterday and the square is half inch, 13mm will fit, I tried to fill mine with a tube but due to lack of room after 20 mins squeezing only managed a small drop in. So into boot drilled a hole size of tube got it filled in no time at all. Sealed hole and job done. One and a half litres required filled and left to run out until stopped. When I was young we used to use a
matchstick broken in half, when inserted in hole just touched the end fine and dandy.

Gents, drained and refilled mine the other week. Level plug was standard 1/2" square drive - I just used the end of my usual 1/2" ratchet without a socket on it.
