Very large pool of oil under the wedge today frown
The engine was as dry as it usually is (which is a bit oily) but nothing unusual.
the diff was bone dry. Couldnt find the source anywhere.
went for a spin, all fine. Got home and gazed forlornly at the puddle of oil.
oh well, better get my tools from the boot I thought, only to find.....
a 5litre tub of castrol speared by a loose screwdriver! A large pool oil in the boot seeping through the fibre glass joins!
Phew! Must remember to put my tools away correctly or drive less spiritedly!

Reminded me of the scene in the film 'Memphis Belle' when the cockpit was raked with gunfire..and blood everywhere. Both pilots screaming at each other saying 'it's not me..must be you!"
Turned out to be a punctured thermos containing tomato soup!

Glad it wasn't an expensive problem. smile

Nothing ever takes 5 minutes
Especially if breasties are concerned!

Not sure what is more worring a pudel of oil on the drive way caused by a leaking container or that is managed to leak out of the boot of your car and you happen to have enough holes for this to happen...class...hehe

Aye campbelt, I did wonder about that. There has been a fibreglass repair in the boot where the spare wheel ought to be. The oil was seeping through the joins.
Anyone recommend a decent oil stain remover from drives?
