The car is owned by a friend of mine called Roy, his wife's name is Dianne, hence the ebay account name.

It really is a nice car, especially the body/paint which is just as good as it looks on the pictures. He's spent a lot of time/money on the car and at the price it's currently at it's an absolute steal.

Yep

I contacted the seller and to be honest the price they were asking for the car seemed very fair in my opinion.

Just couldn't quite persuade my Wife that she would look good in it:-(

"Your just getting rid of one you DON'T need another one she said"

"Shoes and handbags" was my answer.

The conversation didn't end well.

No taste some peoplebiggrin

Stu thats not my old car for sale, although my old wedge is being advertised for sale at the moment on preloved.com for quite a lot more than I sold it for saying that I am on the lookout for another one if the price is right

Well my search has kinda been like the mustang man TV advert, was originally looking for a V8 but I guess this car is just as good a starting point for a wedge!! Even the wife has said OK, which nearly made me fall over wink garage is ready, just need to fill it !!!!

Hi kev,
Think long and hard about that. I done exactly the same as you, two years on and as much as I love the v6, the noise, the fun, the tinkering, I wish I had held out for a v8.
Looks a smart motor though, better than mines looked.anyway thats my tuppence worth.

I have to reiterate what Marcus say's...I owned and cherished Delilah for 3 years, Had loads of fun and wouldn't change a thing but initially i was intending to buy a V8 and after spending a ton of money getting the 280i reliable as i use to use her everyday i had to draw the line...I think the quest for more power was the last straw...I attempted to supercharge her which was very expensive and ended in tears through my impatience.

Since owning a V8 i just wish i had stuck to my guns in the beginning and listened to my good friend who always stands by this.."There is no substitute for cubes"..Very true.
Not trying to put you off or ruin a potential sale as that Wedge is a good'un...

A 280i is a good entry level Wedge and they are not that much slower but the torque that the V8 lays down is a massive grin factor...And the V8 burble is just delicious.....

I think the biggest problem is not allowing your heart to rule your head...Not an easy task....Ziga

i must be in the minority here but i would rather own a v6 i have 3 280i and love the slick gear change they have, i do also own a tr7 with a v8, it used to have no middle silencers on it, i thought it sounded great for a few years but then i got fed up with all that noise and wanted it quit-er, so fitted silencers on it, have to admit that i don't get any pleasure going to fast i just like pottering around with the roof down, but i certainly don't regard the 280i as just an entry level TVR car but as a car i like better than any other TVR out there and that amazingly for me is also the cheapest to buy so i can afford 3 of them.

Hi mate..I did say "A good entry level" not "Just an entry level"...There is a big difference and believe me it used to wind me up when other people used to say it...I had Delilah for just over three years and i was and still am happy with every moment i spent with her...Even the shyte times!...At one point she was pushing over 200bhp and over 200ftlbs of torque so was not a slow car..And even when i put a standard 2.8i engine back in she was not slow..I just had a V8 itch that needed scratching for years..I had never really owned a V8 before...Its a different experience all together...My first love was a 280i and will always have a special place in my heart...Delilah was more than a car to me as the whole chapter changed my life from day one and i will always be thankful for that...Trust me..I would not put a Wedge down in any way... And i would definitely not look down my nose at one...Good god man...Its just not cricket...

I actually got a write up and a readers feature in PPC magazine as i had a right go at the editor for slating off a Wedge...Got an apology as well...biggrin
I even used to get on my high horse when people called them a "Kit" car....mad...(Even though they are)....getmecoat

For me TVR stands for.."To Venture Regardless"...As you can see i said it a couple of years ago and stick by it now..
