Hi All

I've seen this come up before. Has anyone done this with any degree of success? My cars steering f very heavy. I am going to change the steering column bushes as soon as I have the other car out of the garage to make room.

But even then my a wife won't be able to drive the car.

Cheers Karl.

Yes Delilah has an electric power steering pump, Citroen I think, got to get in there and look at it coz think it has a leak.

Im surprised its leaking mate...The steering rack was refurbed so just check the pipework to the pump...I think it was a citron pump, I will see if i can find the receipt..To be fair though i only did it to make room for the blower, It didn't feel any lighter than the original mechanical set up...John if you want to change it back to the old set up then i have a capri and montego..(Refurbed) pump with bracketry..Cheers...Ziga

I'd have thought it would be easier to do a factory style install?

Cortina power steering rack.
SD1/Range Rover (V8) or Granada (V6) PAS pump.
New crank pulley, and just have the hoses made up?

Can't see that running to much more than £500?

Snap it up if you are going to do it with a Cortina mk4-5 power rack as they don't come up that often...You may have to slightly modify the bottom UJ although don't quote me on it...Ziga

I am sure this is fitted to Chedders old wee beastie. Could be wrong. The new owner may be able to clarify.
