I just used an old adjustable spanner, without any issues. Couldn't find a suitable crush washer so using a dowty washer which seems to work without a weep.

I can never remember what size it is but the socket I use is really oily so I just use that one ;^)

That wouldn't work for me because all my sockets are oily. When I undo the sump plug half the oil in the sump usually ends up in my socket box biggrin

Ahh well I use an old gallon oil container with one side cut out to catch the oil, instead of my socket set box!

Funnily enough, I too use an old container to catch the oil. At least in theory that's what's meant to happen, but the warm oil comes out with such force that somehow I miss the target and some of it ends up in or around my socket set box. It's a bit like waking up in the middle of the night to take a leak after a night out drinking and you miss the target. Sometimes I think it would be easier to pour the beer straight down the toilet and save me getting up at night!

I get around that scenario by simply staying up as long as necessary to drain the main vein dry before I go to bed: you can always tell when it is, I'm usually on here spouting cr@p at silly o'clock. smile
