Is this normal routing for a 280 wedge? I'm in the middle of removing the gearbox from my wedge, but the exhaust above the gearbox means I cannot move it far enough back to extract the bell housing.

Definitely a worse job than on my Chim, but the end is in sight smile

Any other tips?

In my 280 I had the "Langford" system ie:
From manifolds pipe runs 90deg out toward the doors where there's a box under the seat position then back toward centre of car another 90deg then runs down car loops over the driveshaft then straight out under rear bumper. Mirror image on other side

Some cara apparently did have the silencer mounted above the propshaft, so presumably the headers would have to go over the bellhousing to get there. I read somewhere that the heat soak into the cabin was horrific which is why it was relocated to the usual ground-scraping location under the prop.

Cheers, mine only has boxes at the back and is quite loud, but the exhaust runs high. The gearbox is out now thankfully but it did put up a fight!
