Speedo cable for series 1 350i

In the parts section it lists this standard SD1 speedo cable (Unipart - GSD380) as being OK for 350i series 2 - anyone know if this is also OK for an '84 ? (series 1)

I was always under the impression that the speedo cable was a special on all models: Ford had a clip-in fitting that didn't work with the Stewart-Warner or VDO speedo and the Rover speedo had a different fitting to the VDO as well AFAIR.

ETA Forgot to say that the later SD1 had an electronic speedo anyway so no drive cable...

We got two new cables from Cable Tec, one for my series two 350i and the other for Delilah ,bless her being an early 2.8 Tasmin, turned both around in a week and very pleased. Wooly.
