Yup, that's what we got here too, you got that long bolt out yet? You'll be needing a press and don't put too much pressure on the hub without putting something like a socket in between to prevent it cracking, wooly.

Proper old skool! The bolts get chemically welded in, don't they?

Not arf, in the end we cut the stay bar out from the hub with a thin cutting disk then we had 8 tons on the end of the bar and it didn't shift until we simultaneously knocked either side of the part of hub containing the bar and it went with one hell of a bang, ste!

Ahhh I remember them. in the first couple of seasons there was always a taz sat at the side of the track with a rear wheel tucked up in the arch after the ally hub carrier broke...( and probably another one somewhere with the rear n/s wheel hanging off due to the non handed hub nut !!)

They were a real racers dilema, less un sprung weight but whey would break at some point. I always ran the later full steel and most of the racers eventually swapped.

as for the main trailing arm bolt i had 2 of them snap, fortunately both in the workshop, whilst doing a spanner check, they both went with the lightest of touch !!! scarey... the back end of my taz not has a proper bracket with the bolt supported on both sides and a big rose joint in the end of the trailing arm...

looks like your getting her apart well though

yeah, I'm trying to lube stuff for a few days in advance and it is helping. I have only snapped one bolt so far and that is one of the ones that holds the drive shaft to the diff (thank goodness its a bolt that slides threw vs a screwed in bolt)
