Hi

Over next bank holiday weekend I will be attending the Rushden Vintage Vehicle Cavalcade for all off the three days.

I am taking all my collection of cars, including the two wedge project's I am working on at present.

These two projects are in various stages of work, and the aim (weather permitting) is to try and get them both back to running order as a challenge/attraction for the show.

The cars are Tasmin Chassis num 2 which as some of you know has not run for a few years. The outriggers have been replaced and we are hopefully going to rebuild the fuel system, replace all the body parts which are off the car at present. Then hopefully get the car running so we can drive it around the show arena on the Monday afternoon.

The other car is my 280i FHC S2 auto which has been slowly refurbed over the last year. At present I am sorting it's black wiring and I hope to have that finished over that weekend and have that also driving around the arena on the Monday afternoon.

Well that's the idea!

The show is open to any TVR owner who may want to come.
Entry to the show is free if you want to come on the TVR stand. To get access, just turn up and go to the exhibitors gate and say you are on the TVR stand with me and they will direct you to the stand were we have space for a few extra cars.

The show site is easy to find it's just off the A6 north of Bedford.

If you want to know any more info, just e-mail via the forum.

Andy

Hi Andy. I may come down to Rushden as I did last year, but I'll let you know for certain nearer the day. Just side tracking slightly, when I came to Burleigh House the other week I noticed looking over your beautiful Wedges that on your 350SE you had the wheels refurbished and they looked gorgeous. Can you point me in the right direction as to where and how much, as I want to have my wheels done on my 350SE. Any info greatly apritiated.

Hi Andy,

Hopefully the Chimaera will be back on the road by then (suspension problems) and will be able to make it, I should know by this week, and would be glad to help out on the wedges if you need it smile

Hi

Thanks for the replys, and I look forward to seeing you all on which ever day you decide to come.

The show site is mainly grass, so if it's been raining heavily, the site can get a little muddy. So please be aware of this, and bare this in mind before you come. If you want a site update before you leave home you can ring me on 07906 462906 or if you have a problem getting into the site.

So let's hope it stays dryish next week and over the long weekend.

There are far more idiotic things out there than this Andy.. and plenty of people will get pleasure from looking at your stunning Wedges! wink

It would be good if I could get a photo of both SEACs together.

See you Monday.

Look forward to seeing who ever joins us on which ever day over the weekend.

Sounds good Andy, both SEAC's & the yellow race car in the middle would make a great picture! yes

Hi

Well day one over, the weather was a bit on the hot side at times.

The day didn't go complely to plan but by the end of the day my blue FHC was turing over on the starter and firing and back firing. It appears to be firing after TDC so we will hopefully be retiming it on Monday.

Chassis num 2 was just cleaned out and we will be hopefully be rebuilding it tomorrow.

A few pics of the day.

With the weather looking good for the next few days, we hopefully should have a busy next couple of days.

There is still some room on the stand so if anybody wants to come please do!

Once again this year, I took a trip to the Rushden Cavalcade to meet Andy and his team. Andy was kind enough to invite me, along with a few others, to keep him company at his display, and what a display it was. There were Wedges of all descriptions and models, some immaculate, others half dismantled and some in the process of being rebuilt on site in full display of spectators. The sun was shining and the crowds just kept coming. There was a huge display of classic cars. I have to say that Andy's display of Wedges was probably the most spectacular there, and I was proud to be a part of it. The Rushden Cavalcade in itself is a huge event and most would need more than one day to see and experience everything there. There was so much to do for everyone, but for me it was an exciting, educational and a brilliant day out. I took some photos, and here is one of my favourite ones.

I've been previous years, but couldn't make it this year as moving next week and must start packing. Always a great event and cracking beer tent and entertainment.

Hoping still to come tomorrow.. smile

B****r....I left this morning at 8am but It was only firing on 7 cylinders. Checked the leads incase loose and found wiggling brought all 8 into play. But as soon as I drove again it sounded like it was back on 7??
I'm hoping it's just a dodgy HT lead as wiggling seems to fix the problem? frown
