Hi all, I've seen a few threads re uprated brake pads. Green stuff, red stuff, Mintex? I've not seen a definite answer as to which is best with standard brakes and doesn't take an age to bed in. What's your view and where best to get them? Thanks.

I am a big Mintex fan, 1144's are the best all round pad that I know of.

Thanks for the responses. Mintex 1144 it is then - where's the best place to buy them on line? Done a quick search but nothing pops up?

Same here, so which sort of front calipers have you got? I have picked up some bargain Mintex 1144's on the flea recently.

Edit - just had a look - no bargain ones left. ;^( Though I didn't check for princess 4-pots.

Thanks Adam. Just plain old standard ones on mine so presume Granada Mk 2 ones will be the right fit. Found some just on eB for £60.

Hi all, just checking before I order but are the pads the MGB633 ones, for Granada Mk 2 brakes?

Thanks.

Yes MGB633 are the ones I ordered in 2008 for the 350i running Ford front calipers and non-vented discs.

All, Mintex 1144's now here. Quick question but do people just use them with just the standard steel shims, or with the sticky plastic backings fitted that they came with, or with sticky plastic backings and steel shims?

Big warning note on the packet says "This material must not be used on public highways". Presume that's down to them being less effective when cold??

Confused.confused
