Cheap DHC 2.8 auto on eBay

Hi Tony
Partly corrrect there.
The car in the advert for sale is an American pattern car and is different to my car. Which is the first of the last 280i's made and were designated 280iS3's made for the UK and European market's.
The difference between an American pattern car and the last S3's are the S3 has a different dash, the same 4 gauge dash used in the SEAC's. (Which car had them first is unknown)

The body was also a full moulded one like the 400 series cars, and the bonnet were vented but not like a 400.

The American pattern cars still had removable front valance, and sill's etc. The rubber bumper was also twice the size of a S3.
The door cards on a S3 are also unique to it, and as far as I am aware all the S3 were also auto's. Plus there were also changes made to the layout in the engine compartment.
The S3 was an attempt by Peter Wheeler and the factory to update the look of the 280i and after ten cars were made the factory stopped production of the 280i.
