Just had some bad news from Kiley Clinton, the threads stripped on my Rack when the took it apart so it's basically scrap frown

However they had the option of putting the tie rods onto an Aston Martin Rack which is apparently based on the same housing but the cost was over £500, or they offered to fit the guts from my scrap rack into a SD1 housing for the same price as having my rack refurbished. The down side to this is it's 3Kg Heavier and takes longer. Pete had a good laugh when I told him I'd suggested the Mrs go on a diet to offset the extra weight (her Idea not mine...)

Interesting connection to Aston and Rover though !

Just heard back from Pete @ Kiley Clinton, they have successfully rebuilt my rack, I say my rack loosely as it's now like triggers broom. Even after replacing the main housing with the SD1 part, replacing bearings & seals etc and putting everything back together as soon as they applied any pressure it leaked due to the valve block housing being cracked too. So they stripped it again and replaced that with no extra charge...

thumbup for Kiley Clinton

SO hopefully good for another 25 years, just need something solid to bolt it too now....
