What do people do for front discs these days? When I had my 390SE, it had the widened princess calipers on the front and AP discs which just arent available anymore...

Has anyone started remaking them or do people convert to other braking systems? I only ask because although I dont have the car anymore, there was an option to machine down alloy bells and use 2-piece discs which would fit in those calipers. Now I've got the lathe and the mill, I can actually do that work now (ironic innit, didnt have the space/money for the car AND the machinery I needed to make a really nice job of it...).

There must be wedges out there with paper thin discs...

Mine are seperate discs on alloy bells, it's lucky the discs are bloody thick because when i looked in to it a couple of years ago, getting new discs machined up from AP blanks was ~£450
You could buy a lathe for less and do them yourself wink

I now use these with princess calipers and Mintex race pads on my track car and they're great. It replaced an astonishingly shoddy 300mm conversion from the now defunct Tower View and the system works really well. They do both the vented and solid discs with a choice of finish:
